Astrophotography taken from the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, New Zealand, by Fraser Gunn, using Canon DSLR cameras: Canon 6d, Canon 7d, or Canon 5d mkII, attached to Losmandy Eqatorial Tracking Mounts: Losmandy Starlapse, Losmandy G8, or Losmandy G11. Telescopes are either a Takahashi FSQ85ED or Celestron HDEdge 9.25", camera lenses used are: Sigma 50mm or Zeiss 135mm. To help bring out the deep sky nebula colours astronomical filters of Ha, Hb, Sii, Oiii have been used. Presentation timelapse animations were made with the help of Yuriko Yoshino

Orions Nebula

Photographer: Fraser Gunn
Camera: Canon 6d
Telescope: Takahashi FSQ85ED
Filter: Clear, HA, HB Exposure:57x Clear 60 seconds ISO 6400, 22x HA 120 seconds ISO 12800, 44x HA 60 seconds ISO 1600, 26x HB 30 Seconds ISO 6400
Each filter group has been averaged together after choosing the best of them (sadly there was a 20 - 40 km wind so many images were lost) then each group has been averaged together
